Seeing that everyone has gone a bit sentimentally soppy (well Corpse has anyway) I thought you'd like a chance for a bit of nostalgia. Try this link.

No they're not mine and I'm not on Commission - so who's going to admit that they have some of these tucked away as a reminder of when times as a City fan were really tough and about to get a lot tougher?

Obviously someone new to eBay since they have no feedback whatsoever. Not Socksy then!

I wonder if the special protest edition still has the balloon stapled to it?  I haven't got a single copy.  It used to cost me £30 to get them done at the print shop at Wincheap and I sold a few of them then gave the rest to the club shop.  I also gave the money I collected from any sales to the club.  It was mad, just a way of chucking a few quid at the club and offending as many people as possible.  It was really politically incorrect.  Whoever buys them, if it's any of you lot, can you run me a copy of each off please?

5 bids...the winning one being £5-50. They've held their value well.
Congratulations to winning bidder gavtrnr whoever that may be!!! Obviously keen to get hold of them as he made 4 of the 5 bids.
I wonder how many more issues/copies remain in existence?

Yeah and he lives near the current ground!!! He's a supporter of the City from years ago but I don't recall seeing him back since the club reformed.

Perhaps we ought to see if we can track down a full set of GTTD. Just so that you know that the publication is not forgotten I entered a prediction competition in the Non League paper and called my entry 'GTTD? No More'. Sadly it started well but now its cr@p - no reflection on the publication I hasten to add!

i have had the gttd delivered and have started to reminisce.
it seems amazing that none of the editorial staff bothered to keep any copys.
And for the life of me i cannot remember how many issues were done, although i know that the first 4 (probably the most valuable) were in A4 format.
And it does not help that the chief editor only put issue numbers on about half of the 'zines and in nearly all of them in the editorial it states that this will be the last ever issue.
The 9 editions i now have in my possesion the starts with the first A5 edition (issue 5) and ends with one titled "the final word" (issue 14)so i am obviously missing one edition from that run (edit:now worked out i'm missing issue 13) , but was there any more?
as socksy had threatened on many occasions that he would produce no more.
re-reading these bought back many fond memories of the early 90's such as:
super skin roasting plewsie and gearie in the 5-1 (in a ledgendary game that took place whilst i was round my wifes family)

hatred of (in no particular order) margate, wealdstone, sittingbourne, dover and neil wyatt

dunstable away

hythe and dartford both folding (where are they now)

holmesy / neaty ?

ginger barmaids, devine , mckewans and quiches!

if anyone would like me to reproduce any of these send me a pm and i will try to run some off for you. and i can drop them off next time i make a game (which will probably be at one of the finals we make)

and in special gttd tradition i have typed all this in lower case and used incorrect punctuation

Well here is my application to join GTTDOC
The "Gone to the Dogs Owners Club"

A brief dig into the karthoarse archives has uncovered copies of issues six, seven and eight. Plus one other that is unumbered, but it comes from the 92-93 season, and has, amongst other things, an article titled The Road to Wembley, debating Canterbury's odds of winning the trophy that year. Odds of 8000-1 were duly offered, and a bet of £1 was staked. Having made it through to the third qualifying round, I reckon Aylesham Turf Accountants, will have been really worried, but fortunately, for them, Worthing knocked us out away. I wonder if they laid any of that bet off just in case?

The front cover of Issue Six sums it all up - picture of man being led away by female police officer:
Man says - " Look luv, I wasn't there that night. I was watching Canterbury and I've got two witnesses"
WPC says - "Now you're just being ridiculous!"
Those were the days!!!!

I remember the Worthing game.  I was there and it was on Football Focus the following week cos their cameras were filming it for their 'Road To Wembley' thing.  They'd picked a club from the very first preliminary round and followed each winner until the final.  Gerry Armstrong was Worthing's manager.  Armstrong walked around the ground and was more than happy to talk about his exploits at the Spain World Cup.  A real gentleman.  What a pity the same can't be said about Ray Clemence.  When he came to Kingsmead as part of a Spurs coaching team for a friendly shortly after, all I did was ask him about a goal against Scotland and he punched me squarely in the face.
