Catch Dave's end of year thoughts and resolutions for 2009 in 'Dave's Diary'
See you all at Bridge on Saturday.......
Oh and Happy New Year to you all for 2009, let's hope it is as successful in footballing terms as 2008 was for City, and a far sight better in just about every other aspect for everyone else!

Oh yes, bit battered and bruised after being outed by broadstairs 101 a few months ago but there you go! New Year and new start etc....
Looking forward to an entertaining and enjoyable second half of the season and particularly hoping for some success in the matchday raffle!
As for the football, 3 points is a must against Staplehurst but the pitch is not in the best of conditions, it could be ugly! |

| Sadly gentlemen I will not be there on saturday as I have a prior engagement, hopefully making Delia cry, but I wont hold my breath! I do however expect a full and detaled report especially on any " ugliness ". Hope its a good day for all. |

Game on though at Chilham with the Reserves, who unfortunately went down 2-3 in extra time. Plenty of incident, including two City disallowed goals that on another day, perhaps one or both might have been given. A "Paul Robinson" goal keeping moment for the City keeper as a back pass bobbled over his kicking foot and went in, and a "Clive Thomas" whistle moment as the ref ends the 90 minutes with the ball midway through crossing the line into the City net, so another disallowed 'goal'.
A superb winning strike for Chilham though in first half of extra time, and overall they probably just about shaded it over the 120mins. |

Yes, a very entertaining stuff at Chilham and a game which could have gone either way. The ref definitely played his part and the city gloveman made up for his howler with some excellent saves as the game progressed.
