Much, better effort from City today. Played more like we all know they can and Westerham were never really in the hunt. For most of the game our opponents seemed more interested in arguing with each other, their manager and the referee. I thought the referee had a fairly good game, a bit fussy at times, but the verbal attack on him from one Westerham player seemed completely unjustified, he had already been booked, and was lucky not be booked again twice, once for his verbals and once again as he was taken off by the manager, obviously fearful he was about to be sent off anyway, the referee showed a lot of restraint for not calling him back to red card him following another volley of abuse as he was substituted.

Anyway back to the football, a good build up and clever flick from Callum put Scott Lawford through for the first goal in the first third. The second goal, an early contender from Wayne for Goal of the Season, was superbly made and built up from midfield, to Wayne who dribbled past seemingly the whole Westerham defence, wrong footed the goalkeeper who went one way as he poked the ball in the other corner. Superb goal. Westerham's goal in the third third, was a net buster that flew in beyond Danny Black's acrobatic, flying, despairing, dive.

A lot of players had good games today, but a special mention yet again for Dave Read playing at centre half, Wayne Fittall who looks sharper with every game, Harry Gower and Ben Smith, who played well but continues on his mission to have every referee collect his name! I thought Ben Small played well when he came on, and finally the luckless Karl Williams, ran and ran, got into some great positions, but again just couldn't buy a goal!

Just a report on the game and something that happened during it. More of a problem for Westerham internally I think!
