MATCHDAY PROGRAMME

I hope they drop Mark Wyver's Kent club round up from the programme.  If it was at all interesting, I wouldn't skip through it when I see it a couple of days earlier in the local rag.  I don't particularly care about any other Kent clubs anyway.
Kent Boy

Is that because you are arrogant or thick?

socksy, did you not know he's  the missing link?
ghost of hawk

I forgot to mention Mark,
is he arrogant and thick because he does not like other kent clubs or because he does not like your column?

Blimey Mark that's a bit of an over reaction!!!!

Socksy makes a very valid point. The club uses a variety of means to keep people informed of what is going on in and around the club.
It is clearly a tough task keeping the information available on the website, programme and in the press different. Thus far it is a task that has been achieved almost without exception.

The Kent round up gives details of clubs to whom City aspire. Yes when we go to Ramsgate on Tuesday it will be with a degree of envy - they plus the likes of Margate, Folkestone Whitstable and Herne Bay are where we want to be. How they are getting on is probably of little concern to us at this stage. We'd rather read about the goings on at Lydd, Snodland, Betteshanger and Hollands and Blair. They're the sides who are our immediate priorities not the Ryman, or even Kent League, sides.
It's neither arrogant or thick to express this view - just explaining that the article is of little relevance to the majority of County League supporters at this stage.

Point taken although it sounded as though the original poster was having a dig. Quite happy to do a County League Round up if approached.

Well put MD.  I am indeed neither thick nor arrogant, I just have little interest in other Kent Clubs.  I packed in going to non league games when City folded and although I've lived in Faversham for a few years, then Ashford for the last three years, I've never been tempted to watch either of their clubs.  City's all I've got and all I want.  It's my City.  Simple as that.

I never read your column in The Gazette because it bears no relevance to me.  I also skip through the hockey bit because it doesn't interest me, the job section because I'm happy with the one I've got and the dating bit because I'm relatively happy with the bird I've got.  That doesn't make me thick or arrogant either though.

Getting back to my original point, I would much prefer to see a page with the fixture list, results, goalscorers, attendances, appearances etc.  I know it's a little more work for the Ed, but it comes in handy to plan which games I can get to.  I'll also know exactly which games I went to when we have the usual row about;  "You go to football every week.  You never have time for me.  Blah Blah, Blah..."

Presumably you expressed these views in the programme survey the club undertook towards the end of last season or is this just to wind Mark up?

The lack of fixtures/results was really my only gripe!!!
socksy

No, I didn't fill the questionaire in.  I couldn't think how it could be improved at first, then I realised what was missing.  I may see you there tomorrow.
Kent Boy

Easy for thy bystander to moan about what is in the programme.
socksy

That's right.  Face it, you're column's dull, a repeat of what we could read in The Gazette if we felt like it, and most of all, it's irrelevant.  I'd much rather leaf through the programme and see what we did againt this lot last time or what the crowds were or who scored against whom and when etc.  Sorry to shatter your illusions and I was trying to be nice about it, but I heard other City fans talking about the programme questionaire and they all mentioned your article.

I naturally assumed that some of them would make their feelings known so I didn't bother myself.  There's a lesson to be learned here.  When given the chance to speak, do so.
