my initial thought is that i don't like it,
not keen on the layout or the font.
or the photo of the 2008 -2009 squad that looks the same as the 2007 -2008 squad.

I find it far to complicated. You can't even return to the hompage once you navigate away without hitting the back button on your browser

I too had the same problem as Dotty but eventually realised that clicking on the Canterbury City Football Club emblem at the top left takes you back to the homepage.
And as for GOH? I've got a boss like you - write a superb document and all he does is complain he doesn't like the font or its size! (Mind you can't believe we've got the spelling in the copyright wrong at the bottom of the page!)
It'll take a while to get used to, working out where everything is but it has much of what you'd want to see upfront- fixtures and table.
My real concern is that fixtures/table aside the homepage looks like being a bit 'static'. What I think it needs is rather than a Welcome to the New Website tab with a big yellow WELCOME box is a 'What's New' tab. Here on accessing the home page you will be presented with links to new items, perhaps just from the past week, posted on the website irrespective of whether this is in Match Reports, Lorna's Latest etc. That way the supporter won't need to trawl all over the new site. This is essentially what the old site had but in a neater way.

A bit harsh biggestfan.
I was going to start a Poll on whether posters thought it was an improvement (I certainly do) but..... thought i'd ask what people felt were the positives and negatives of it.
Plenty of things to iron out I agree but once they're done I reckon it'll be much better than the old one although I'm not sure that the VIEWS bit is going to replace the forum. That I guess will be for more considered statements of opinion. No actually I'm sure it won't replace it. There won't be the same instant reply; the type what you want without thinking too long about what you are saying and the inane chat about your favourite biscuit XI.

The new website has some good points and some bad points, it has a lot of information which you need to navigate around, I am sure people will get used to the new format. The good thing is that the front page is very short not like the last old one, where there was about 5 pages in lenght with no tab to tack you back to the top. The font is a little on the small side and not always easy to read against the back ground, but I am sure that can be sorted out.
The biggest moan is no forum and no hits counter, which takes me on to the fact that there was no counter on the old site but there was always a record of the total hits ( how was this achieved ?) was the number of hits just made up.
I see that there are no longer any atendence figures for the home games, is this because there were incorrect on the old site. what formular was used to calculate the attendences? as they are always over estimated?
I feel sorry for the people of Bridge who live next to the ground. There was all this fuss at the opening game about supporters being on the other side of the pitch, and what did the club do, Nothing, sorry put up a couple of signs to say that we should be over the other side. NO ONE from the club goes round at the home games and informs us that we should be on the other side of the playing field. I wonder what the residents of bridge think about having 172 people outside their homes on a saturday afternoon
I bet the club do not respond to this posting

oh yes, there are attendences for each and every match, the only problem is finding them (klick on articles and on the left side you find amongst loads of other subjects the statistics for Mens 1st/Res/Womens1st).
That is the problem: the way the page is structured obviously does not apply to my sort of logic and that results in me scrambling round the page thinking: Well, I've seen this topic before, but where on earth was it? I guess after a while my brain will adjust.
And I've said it before: A forum for the fans is essential and it should be an official one. I honestly don't see the problem that the club-officials (who otherwise do a great job!) seem to have. You can not prevent idiots jumping on the bandwagon and as CCFC rises through the pyramid they will also come to the matches. Mark my words! All a forum needs is an admin who deletes any racial, sexist or whatever slur as fast as he can. The "Views" on the new site are just for general statements and according to the club highly sencored, so no substitute for a forum.

When I went to the first game after the 'stand on the other side' agreement, I was expecting for it to be 'enforced'. It didn't bother me that much and I could understand the views of the locals. On the other hand, I've spoken to a few other City fans and they think it's cobblers and we should stand where we want on a public park. I'm still not bothered whether they enforce the agreement or not. I'll stand where necessary if it makes life easier for the club. The only thing I don't like about standing that side though is that the sun's in your eyes all the time.
As for the website, I rarely use it, but DO find the new one harder to understand. I'll get the hang of it eventually though. It's still better than Fat Stu's clubcall messages! I just use this forum everyday and think there should be a link and a warning on the official site that we're here and we're unofficial. Someone must be checking this to see we don't get too out of hand though?
