OTFORDI see on the City website (anyone remember that?) that the Otford game starts at 2:45. In footballing language; "Will it not be too dark towards the end of the game?"

What I would like to know is, why are Otford playing in the Kent Division 1 EAST if they are around the Sevenoaks area. Is it due to the fact that there are more teams in the western division so one had to shift?

Fortunately the early postponement of the game at Otford meant I could see City's two main rivals play at Cobdown. Quite how APM managed to throw away a half time lead and go down 4-1 is beyond me. UKC created nothing and were pretty much impotent during a first half where APM fought hard and fairly, giving the students no time on the ball. The hosts deservedly lead 1-0 after 45 minutes through a fine header from a right wing corner and totally dominated.
The second half was pretty much the same for 15 minutes but the turning point came midway through when the APM 10 broke down the left, controlled well and fired a shot across the UKC Keeper/Captain. For all the world the ball was heading just inside the far post until the keeper just managed to get fingertips to it and narrowly divert wide. Still UKC created zip until out of nothing they scored - APM knocked the ball back to their keeper and as the UKC forward closed him down he succeeded in simply blasting the ball at the forwards back. The ball rebounded towards and into the goal. Unbelieveable. Minutes later UKC were ahead when their tricky winger weaved past three defenders before sliding the ball under the keeper.
APM had lost complete control and were a spent and beaten force. Worse was to follow as UKC scored twice more and in between APM had their forward sent off for a second yellow - a wild thrash at the UKC winger which could have earned him a straight red. The UKC keeper came rushing out to protest to the ref (earned him a booking) which clearly upset the APM forward who, having called the ref a c**t, appeared to want to fight the keeper there and then before 'offering' to settle things after the game! Thankfully things seemed to settle down eventually and allowed the University to complete an amazing and probably undeserved turnaround.
Hopefully the new management at APM will respond to the behaviour witnessed which it has to be said was totally out of keeping with the match and also the sides attitude at Bridge earlier in the season.

Oh Socksy, if I recall your postings in the past correctly it's not the wet and lonely MD that makes you switch off. It's the fact that he was watching students - impotent or otherwise
