RamsgateIt's been good having Erith and H&B to play to experiment with formations, personnel and tactics etc and as a tool towards gaining match fitness, but how about just putting the strongest available 11 out on the pitch against Ramsgate and giving them a game, I am sure we have the players to give them a run for their money so to speak, and what a marker we could put down if we were able to get a positive result.

Personally I'm dreading it! I still have the dreadful memories of the last two games against Ramsgate which ended in double figure defeats.....

But that was then.......
We were lucky to get double figure crowds then. Crowds? Now there's a contradiction in terms!

Well done the whole squad tonight on a good performance against Ramsgate. Although defeated 1-3, there were lots of positives. Main one for me was not letting their heads drop after going 0-2 down so early on, they fought back and fought well and never let Ramsgate run away with the game. Some good peformances, Danny Black with at least a couple of brilliant saves made up for the early lapse. Jamie Maxted and Dave Read both had good games, as did Harry Gower and some of the youngsters in the second half. Ramsgate looked quicker to the tackle, played the ball round well and there was some good off the ball running, and fortunately for us some wayward finishing. Despite all that we didn't look a team from 5 or is it 6 leagues below them and had a few chances of our own to improve the result. All things considered a very credible performance. Well done the City.

Yep, so much for my pessimism! City performed very well and although the scoreline was certainly a fairish reflection of the game the team emerged with great credit. Some real tough decisions to be made soon by Dave and the management team but what a great position to be in at this stage.
