yep, the view of one or two or three fans would be highly welcome. I wasn't there, of course, but would go for the blip - you just can't win everything on your way up to the Conference specially not the Cup matches. |

OK I was there, well for most of the game anyway. It was wet, windy and cold and the weather wasnt all that either.
H&B came out of the blocks quicker, stronger and with more desire than City right from the off, and although we huffed and puffed and had an occasional spell it was more to flatter than to deceive thats pretty much the way it stayed.
H&B were deserved winners but I wouldnt read to much into it other than maybe a bad day at the office, infact thats a bit harsh because we wasnt really bad we just wasnt on top form.
Cant tell you about the goal though, I had had enough and left a couple of minutes before Wayne scored, shame he is going to miss the next 4 or 5 games with the form he is in. |

Only have myself to blame? I miss 2 of those games because i'm at my daughters birthday party and my friends wedding for one of the others.
I know the lads like to read the forum to see what people are writing about the team and the club but its irritating when people keep making little snipes about our conduct.
I've only ever been sent off once for City, that was 2 yellow cards in the Uni game last year and am suspended this time for a sending off for my Sunday team, which was a weak one at that but a sending off nonetheless so the detail is irrelevant.
If anyone feels they'd like to give me advice then they're more than welcome to approach me on a saturday afternoon, rather than writing jobs worth comments such as 'he only has himself to blame', i'm willing to listen and would appreciate the constructive criticism.
Cheers. |

Fair enough 14.11.05
From my point of view, it just gets very frustrating, when City cannot put out there best players, because of things that happen in other games for other teams. I know this subject was touched on in a previous thread, and I believe we have come to terms with the fact that we have no rights over your time etc, after all, you guys play for nothing, we watch for nothing, and over the last season and a bit we have had some terrific entertainment - for nothing.
As for 'snipes', that comment is probably fair enough too, but I have often reported on the games, and might say that a particular player or players had a good game or a not so good one, or the midfield was solid or lacking a bit of steel, or whatever, they are my opinions, and only that, they are given as a view for those that are not there every week. They're not meant to be 'snipes'. I hope the difference is seen. |

I, for one aren't able to get to as many matches as i'd like to(because of my groundhopping travels elsewhere) so am always pleased to see karthoarse's reporting of the match which is always spot-on, objective and honest, without being critical at all towards anyone in particular,as i'm sure are many others.
I, too always write reports on my St Pauli & other travels and i think it's good to write a view for those that aren't fortunate enough to be there on the day, i remember the only time that i've ever criticised a player(not by name) was the Hythe lad that was responsible for the disgraceful provocation of Royston in the pre-season game, Roystons' non-reaction was exemplary and encouraged and applauded by City officials who were close to me at the time.
Think that club discipline is superb and a shining example to other clubs(no names mentioned..)

Sorry Wayne (if that is you, 14.11.05),
I certainly didn't mean to snipe and also I should be old enough to know that those cool "one-sentence-remarks" can be a bit imbalanced. And I don't watch as many games as I would love to. So following a club mainly from the distance means a) I can't chat with you on a Saturday afternoon which definately would be the best thing to do and b) I just suck up every bit of information I can get, right? And it seemed a fact to me that you were send off and would be missing 4-5 City matches. It didn't say anything about birthdays and weddings, but there you go. Wayne, just take that sentence as my expression of regret that a valuable and important player is missing City-matches when I'd rather have you on the pitch. That's all there is to it really. |

No yellow or red to my name from the Battle of Bridge, just a shiner for the next week or so.
I would love to be as calm under provocation as Royston is but unfortunately i'm not, never have been and am unlikely to ever be. Its definitely a flaw but we all have them, otherwise we'd be playing a lot higher up I guess.
Cheers for the chat/banter, I promised myself I wouldnt write on the forum but just as in a game and winding up the opposition defenders, I couldnt help myself!
Peace.
